Philly Clicks Youth Ensemble:
- Warm-up: relaxing into the floor, adding even more speed and complexity to basic steps so that we can relax the hips, knees and feet;
- Warm-up: integrating ‘air steps’ like hops, leaps, pullbacks and wings to condition our bodies and perfect our weight shifts; importantly, I also ask the students to do these steps at half-time to make sure they have the proper weight placement.
- “One at a time” - students must demonstrate exercises by themselves
- Progressions/across the floor: integrating speed, air steps and turns to clean up sounds and weight shifts, quicker turns are done one at a time.
Improvisation: we end each class with 5 minutes of improvisation.
